Introduction
Golf2Go is a company that sits within The ColdChain Group which has over 10 years experience of corporate activity within the automotive industry. It is from this background that the Group established high level relationships in mainstream golf through the supply of cars and light commercial vehicles.
This established high level relationships which gave rise to consideration of a Golf Studio in the group’s headquarters in Milton Keynes which resides in the heartland of England. This has fuelled the ambitions of the directors to consider how other income streams within the golfing world can be championed to provide an embracing suite of income streams to the group.
ColdChain is one of the few companies that are vertically integrated and results in the necessary control of key elements for a successful retail platform:
- Control of its order programmes for retail sales
- Direct negotiation with mainstream suppliers on a worldwide initiative
- Involvement and understanding of the wider marketplace
History
Beginning in 1999 in Stewkley, Buckinghamshire, we established a business platform for the supply of refrigerated commercial vehicles. This was based upon the wide knowledge by the founding director and an ability to pursue lines of commercial opportunity within the pharmaceutical industries. The ColdChain business model evolved as the corporate sector grew with the general worldwide economy evolving through the changing face of industry action.
E-commerce emerged with real momentum and ColdChain was at the forefront of the competition with the creation of niche on-line brands. As the post millennium period has shown, dot com business routes have shaped activity and we are pleased that despite the downturn of recession, the analytics behind ColdChain still see the model evolving.
By the mid part of the first decade post millennium, ColdChain had seen its business stream move to a growing light commercial portfolio as the fridge freezer model was contained so the business income model was not so dependent on few large organsiations. Latterly cars have taken a larger slice of the business.
In 2007 the group established niche banking relationships which allowed for a wider platform of business growth and allowed us to compete for more household corporate names. It is through this that the emerging golf market place became a real opportunity. In addition as a niche provider to high profile icon individuals on the automobile side, the commercial ability to introduce high level discussions became a reality as well as being commercially beneficial.

Products / Support Programmes
Different businesses require different characteristics. Some need a range of products to support the overall business lifespan and Golf2Go is no different.
Golf2Go is proud to be connected with IJP Design and more importantly be awarded one of only four on-line supply agreements in the UK. It is already recognized as the lead player for Ian Poulter’s clothing range and the Group’s ambition is to grow this further as name awareness of this brand consolidates across the globe.
With the arrival of own brand golfing accessories, Golf2Go is well placed to make a series of notable advances as the leisure industry continues to evolve.
So why IJP Design as the preferred supplier to Golf2GO?
The ethos behind IJP Design & the IJP logo is to create high quality, unique, funky & distinctive apparel that fuses functionality with fashion, letting you reflect your own personality & style.
Ian Poulter took up the game at the age of four when his Dad Terry, himself a single figure handicap golfer, gave him a cut down three wood. Ian turned professional at nineteen when he won the Open de Cote d’ivoire on the Challenge Tour in 1999. By winning the Henry Cotton Rookie of the year in 2000, a springboard was laid for Ian to become one of the most exciting talents on the European Tour.
Ian’s passion for clothing started at an early age and to feed this desire, he worked at the Stevenage market merchandising and selling clothes. This enabled him to save money to buy the latest styles --- as Ian says – ‘look good, feel good, play good has always been my mantra’
The launch of IJP began when Ian started sketching designs as he toured around the world on letterheads and bar coasters. The dream has now become a reality – both Ian and you can wear the IJP Design clothing brand on and off the golf course. Ian is focused on quality and attention to detail so it will come as no surprise to learn that each garment has been tried and tested prior to production.
For each seasonal collection, three different tartans are woven in Scotland and Northern England. The famous Poulter tartan bootleg trousers and now shorts are the pillars of each collection that the range is then designed around.
So Golf2Go is proud of our position with the brand and look to make you feel good about all your golf and leisurewear.
